Torah min haShamayim: Conflicts Between Religious Belief and Scientific Thinking | Institute for Jewish Ideas and Ideals
Torah min haShamayim: Conflicts Between Religious Belief and Scientific Thinking | Institute for Jewish Ideas and Ideals: " Association of Orthodox Jewish Scientists was founded to resolve "the apparent points of conflict between scientific theory and Orthodox Judaism."[1] The claims of paleontology, cosmology, and especially evolutionary biology exposed contradictions with traditional beliefs that were hard to overcome-so hard, indeed, that Alvin Radkowsky (an eminent nuclear physicist and leading member of the association) described the challenge as "a test of faith comparable to that faced by the biblical Abraham."[2]"

Vidal of Tolosa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Vidal of Tolosa - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "Vidal resided in Catalonia, where he prepared his most important work, Maggid Mishneh, a commentary on Maimonides' Mishneh Torah. This work covered the entire contents of the Mishneh Torah, but by 1906 only those parts were extant which cover the following books: iii., iv., v. (ch. i.-ix. only), xi., xii. (ch. i.-iii. only), and xiii. Before the twentieth century, the commentary was never published separately, but only together with the Mishneh Torah (first at Constantinople, 1509). Vidal's second work was a commentary in Arabic on a work by Al-Ghazali that is known in Hebrew as To'elet ha-Higgayon. This commentary was translated into Hebrew by Moses ben Joshua of Narbonne, and as of 1906 was extant in manuscript in the Library of the Vatican. From Joseph Caro's preface to his Kesef Mishneh it appears that Vidal was a personal friend of Nissim of Gerona."

sephardic surnames « Sephardi Tree's Blog: "controversial “Jewish question” regarding its founding in 1596. Vito Alessio Robles, the eminent Saltillo scholar early on stated that “all the citizens of Monterrey descend from Jews.” After a public outcry Alessio Robles had to retract his statement. This book reviews the claim that many of the first settlers of Monterrey were indeed of Jewish descent. The author focuses primarily on the Garza family and establishes beyond a doubt that they were conversos, New Christians from original Jewish families, sometimes labeled Crypto-Jews if they lapsed back to practicing their Jewish faith in secret, the persons pursued by the Inquisition."

revealingthesoul.com » 2012 » March » 15: "The first Hebrew word of the book of Genesis is “Breishis.” It is a composite of two words boro – create and shis which one of its meanings is hole (shitim.) In other words creation comes to us through the metaphor of holes.
The Hebrew name Betzalel means in the shadow of power (God.) (Exodus 35:30) “Betzalel son of Uri (light) son of Chur (hole.)” He was blessed by the Creator to know all the variations of flow in the spiritual realm and thus was able to make a physical tabernacle reflecting all the vibrations of the spiritual realms.
He understood the secret of the Hebrew letters and each detail that they represented. The word for letters in Hebrew is “oss” which also means sign. The Hebrew letters are a sign for something. The shape and form of each Hebrew letter and word reflects the various flows of life force in creation."
